FROM CORAL REEF PARADISE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD TO A VALENTINE’S WEEKEND GETAWAY CLOSER TO HOME… IN GRANADA, AT THE FOOT OF THE SNOW-CAPPED SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAIN RANGE.

Immersed in the cultural and architectural heritage of one of Andalucía’s most venerable cities, the Hospes Palacio de Los Patos was converted from a reconstructed 19th century palace in the historic centre. It was built in an H-shape between 1885 and 1890 by Spanish architect Francisco Giménez Arévalo in celebration of the marriage between two members of one of Granada’s most prominent families. Today, “reflecting the bourgeoisie’s past desire for distinction and innovation”, the hotel’s new interiors have been appointed in a sleek modernist style, with a focus on maintaining the splendour of the original features, such as the roofs, floors and a grand staircase, balanced with contemporary design elements that break up the uniformity of the classical construction.

Another stunning focal point of the 42-room hotel is its verdant Arabic garden, while the restructured version of the palatial facilities includes a spa and treatment areas, an indoor swimming pool and the hotel’s own gourmet restaurant.
