Bar d’o
Glittering Star Quality

The recently opened Bar d’o restaurant, lounge and bar in Marbella oozes elegance and sophistication.
The name “Bar d’o” refers to “gold”, which is particularly apt as the restaurant is located on Marbella’s famous The Golden Mile, and the owners’ admiration for Brigitte Bardot.
The décor could be described as “classic chic” and is reminiscent of the fashionable bars and restaurants found in Madrid, with its clean lines, high ceiling and melange of cream, brown, beige and white that meld together under the gloriously fanciful chandeliers.
The walls are adorned with portraits of some of the biggest sex symbols of all time, including the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Monica Bellucci and Brigitte Bardot, while the tables are laid with crisp white tablecloths and excellent-quality table and glassware.
If you prefer to eat outside, at the restaurant entrance there is a delightful terrace that is shaded with huge canopies and surrounded by vegetation to give you privacy from the road.
This chichi restaurant aims to offer customers a perfect balance between fine dining and a relaxed bar/lounge experience. Seasoned Marbellís might recognise some of the staff members who have worked in other highly-acclaimed eating establishments along the Coast and built-up fantastic reputations in their own specialist areas – with attention to detail of paramount importance to each of them.
Head chef Steve Dekerf has expertly put together a French-Belgian menu that uses high-quality ingredients cooked in a contemporary French style. The menu is varied, from lighter options to the wonderfully indulgent, with the likes of lobster, foie gras and home-made desserts that make you weak at the knees. (We highly recommend the banoffee pie and their chocolate fondant!).
But you don’t have to enjoy Bar d’o just for its gastronomy: there is also an attractive bar and lounge area for a drink after work or a place to relax; and, if you feel in the mood, you can dance away the evening to some great upbeat tunes.
There is a wide range of beverages to suit anyone’s tipple, with an impressive wine menu at reasonable prices. Some people say that the real test of a good restaurant or bar is the quality of its house wine, and Bar d’o certainly passes this test with flying colours.
All in all, Bar d’o is a must-visit no matter what your budget or tastes, as it really does seem to cater for all.
Open every day from 12am to 2am and until 3am at the weekends.
