Cutting-Edge Design in Valencia

Comprising an extensive schedule of commercial exhibitions combined with a programme of cultural activities at the fairground and city, “See You In Valencia” offers cutting-edge global solutions for architecture, interior design and decoration, between 9 and 13 February.

The event comprises three joint fairs: Cevisama (ceramics, bathrooms and natural stone), Habitat (furniture, lighting, kitchens and home textiles) and Maderalia Selection (materials and solutions for interior design).

The complementary schedule includes exhibitions, tributes, showrooms, conferences, presentations, architecture tours of the city, and other events enabling visitors to enjoy “the pillars of Spanish culture: architecture, cuisine and art”.

The main theme for Cevisama 2015 will be “synergies”, highlighting innovative uses of ceramics materials; while Hábitat offers a wide and varied portfolio of national and international exhibitors showcasing latest trends and products.

Paris Theme Focused on Nature, Human and Techno

designshow4The main theme for the first Maison & Objet of 2015, in Paris from 23 to 27 January, is “MAKE”, expressed in the areas “Nature Made”, Human Made” and “Techno Made”.

During the year, as the fair expands to the Americas and Asia, six up-and-coming names in the world of design will also be given a space for expression at each Maison & Objet event, offering them the chance to present their work to professionals from around the world.

For the first of two shows this year in Paris, a selection of six young Mexican designers will be showcased in the exhibition “Talents à la Carte”: Christian Vivanco, Paul Roco, Liliana Ovalle, Studio davidpompa, Cooperativa Panorámica, and FOAM & Perla Valtierra.

This year also marks a new chapter for Maison & Objet, coinciding with its 20th anniversary. To mark the occasion, it has been decided that each fair (Paris in January and September, Maison & Objet Asia in Singapore in March, and Maison & Objet Americas in Miami Beach in May) will have a designer of the year.

The first honour, in Paris in January, is bestowed on Oki Sato, who was born in 1977 in Toronto (Canada), studied architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo, obtained his master’s degree in 2002, opened the Nendo studio in Tokyo that same year, and now has offices in Tokyo and Milan.
