The Lapitec Chef is a state-of-the-art induction cooking system, completely hidden under the sintered stone coun tertop which activates a patented Cooking Mat. When it is not on, only the small screens and touch controls are visi ble, freeing the hob of any obstacles, maintaining essential aesthetics and ensuring it is easy to cl ean. The four-burner induction unit has been seamlessly integrated under the Lapitec worktop. By placing a specific silicone Cooking Mat on the plate, some magnetic sensors activate the touch controls and allow the system to be turned on. This means that, without this specific mat, the induction hob and cor responding controls are not active and are completely safe, both to facilitate cleaning operations and to be able to use the work surface for other tasks such as food preparation. It also has child-lock control. Each Lapitec Chef Cooking Mat is washable in the dishwasher, covers a cooking zone that is equivalent to two burners and can be used separately when necessary. Lapitec has the appearance of natural stone but with much higher performance, resisting high tempera tures, scratches and stains as it is non-porous – which also makes it more hygienic. Lapitec is available from Mercado da Pedra in Avda. de Salamanca in San Pedro de Alcántara (www.mercadodapedra.com) , Decodan Studio in Avda. Juan Carlos I in Estepona and Marmorin Design Center on Marbella’s Golden Mile (www.decodanstudio.com) .
