Music-Related Gift Gadgetry

electronic-guitar

It seems like only a year ago I was offering up advice on what to buy for a music-loving loved one this Christmas… Oh wait, it was a year ago! As we fast approach the festive season once more it’s time to look at some cool and funky Crimbo music gadgetry (I want all of these!).

Electronic Rock Guitar T-Shirt

Belt out your favourite rock tunes on this T-shirt based real playable electric guitar from thinkgeek.com. All major chords are recorded from a real electric guitar, allowing you to strum just like you would a real guitar. The included mini amp clips to your belt and gets plenty loud with great sounding amplification circuitry (and it goes to 11!). The tone knob on the amp lets you adjust the sound just like a real guitar. Two drawbacks though: you’ll be pulling your hair out before the turkey is cold (unless you’re son/husband is Slash); and I’m not sure if you can wash it so a good chance it will be stinking by the new year (especially if your son/husband is Slash).

Waterproof All-in-One MP3 Player

The essential gift for every over-indulger this Christmwaterproof-playeras… The Sony NWZ-W273S 4GB all-in-one headphones and MP3 player combined will allow you to run off that third helping of Christmas pudding that you just couldn’t resist. They look brilliant, give 60 minutes of listening from a three-minute charge and are 100 per cent waterproof too! You can now swim whilst listening to Showaddywaddy (if that’s what you’re into…).

Teenage Engineering OP-1

Despite professing to be made by a hormonal spot farm in his stinking bedroom, Teenage Engineering’s OP-1 has all the hallmarks of being designed by sharp, musically-minded adults. Its synth, drum sampler, four-track tape sim and mixer let you produce squawky tunage in seconds. And that toy-like design makes your PC (or Mac) look like it’s wearing a suit to a teenager’s birthday.
