Casa Tua
Italian chef Adriano Visentin and his businesswoman wife Catherine Guilfoyle, from Kilkenny (Ireland), both gained extensive international experience in their respective fields working in the US in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Adriano trained as a chef in Milan and worked at various restaurants in Italy before moving to the US and refining his culinary schools at top fine dining establishments in Detroit, New York City, Los Angeles and Miami.
Meanwhile, Catherine, a business studies major at college, worked as a bar and restaurant manager in Miami – where they met in 2000. They married in Sicily in 2007, moved back to Kilkenny, “fell in love” with Marbella while on holiday and – now the parents of two young children – moved to the Coast in April 2013. “We knew we wanted to bring our children up in such a beautiful city.” They found their “dream restaurant”, which also came with accommodation upstairs, and opened Casa Tua in June. “Things are going amazing,” they report. “Everyone has been great and helpful. We love it here.”
