Launch of New Apartments at Benalmádena Hill Views Resort

Bromley Estates Marbella have announced that they are the exclusive agents for the Benalmádena Hill Views resort, on behalf of Caja Sur. These stylish new twobedroom apartments and penthouses were officially launched onto the market in March and are now open for viewings. According to Bromley (established in 2009), the resort offers all the right ingredients for a holiday home, rental or investment property: “namely stunning views, superb features, excellent on-site facilities including a golf course, close proximity to local amenities and, of course, low prices starting from just €125,000”. As sales manager Justin Barber explains, “The Benalmádena Hill Views resort represents great value for money; high quality building, generous private outside space and incredible views from each and every apartment. Residents can take advantage of 100 per cent finance opportunities, and non residents up to 70 per cent finance available directly with Caja Sur bank, which are just a few of the benefits. Residents have access to a secure, low-cost, yet highly desirable sunshine lifestyle; with an on-site restaurant, golf course, gym, tennis and paddle courts, plus the beaches and town just a few minutes away.” Added director Hayley Bromley, “We are excited about the launch of Benalmádena Hill Views. We already have a waiting list of interested investors, and are expecting a fast sell-out due to the competitive pricing of these brand new apartments that effectively tick all the boxes. Today’s customer is extremely informed and knows what they want: sea views, newly constructed, clean lines, close to the beach and essential conveniences, with private parking and storage rooms, a tall order that we are pleased to say is filled with ease at affordable, financeable prices.” Benalmádena Hill Views

Creating Stunning Designs in Mosaics

Domingo Muñoz Jiménez was 19 years old when he began working on swimming pools, setting up a business called Decopools. He and his team provided pools for such important Costa del Sol clients as Kempinski Hotel & Resort, Las Dunas Hotel, Barceló María Zambrano Hotel, Guadalpin Marbella and Puente Romano. Then, at 37, he suffered a work accident that required several back operations, and he had to start from scratch again and re-think his options. With a passion for glass and stone, he set his sights on mosaics. Today he also includes LED lighting in his work to help bring the mosaics alive, and can produce a design from any photograph or graphic illustration. Every year (February) he holds an exhibition in Estepona at the Casa de Juventud. Domingo Muñoz Tel. (+34) 674 283 161 /

Special Presentation of Rice Recipes Book at Alborada

Fresh from the success of his fascinating book “Cooking Critically”, which traces the history of gastronomic journalism since its beginnings in France in the 19th century. Costa del Sol-based author Fernando Sánchez-Gómez has now released a new recipes book on rice dishes. A professional journalist and expert on food who writes regularly for the Andalucian press, Sánchez-Gómez made investigative trips throughout Málaga province to research the book, which contains 222 professional recipes for rice dishes from Michelin-star establishments and other restaurants, cafeterias, bars, gastrobars, chiringuitos and catering schools – including paellas, risottos, salads, fideuás, sushi, desserts and other rice specialities. The recipes are based on local ingredients, cooked using Málaga virgin extra olive oil and accompanied by Málaga Denomination of Origin (D.O.) wines. Sánchez-Gómez held a special book launch and signing at the Alborada restaurant in Arroyo de la Miel, where mine hosts Elisa and Juan – known in the area for their sumptuous traditional cuisine (with cod a main speciality) – were also hosting an appetising “Spring Fortnight of Rice Dishes”. /

New Developments Announced for 2015

The Costa del Sol’s pioneering centre for innovation in tourism and business, Andalucía Lab, has launched an English version of its website and announced special plans and a packed programme of events to help small businesses in spring and summer 2015. The centre offers practical and innovative solutions for SMEs on the Costa del Sol using technology and innovation, as well as advice and support for improving and modernising their business and growing stronger. One of the new developments is to increase the number of single topic training courses and the length of these sessions, and they are now also offering snippets from their courses which can be viewed online to supplement the offline training. This highly important, yet little known, centre not only offers training and support to small businesses but also affordable office and event space for small businesses. Their co-working area is a business eco system which they say is changing the traditional way of working and how businesses interact with their work space. Everyone is also welcome to use their Café Lab, a comfortable area with free Wi-Fi, where people can work and hold meetings without the need to book, and attend their free training courses. Costa Women hosted their International Women’s Day Conference at Andalucía Lab for a second consecutive year. The 2015 focus was #MakeItHappen, with 92 women planning on doing just that when they attended the event, held in conjunction with “1230 The Women’s Company” from the UK. In addition to various speeches and opportunities for local businesswomen to network with other entrepreneurs, “Make it Happen” was the focus for raising money to support the AMUSUVIG charity (Asociación de Mujeres Supervivientes de la Violencia de Género”). Specsavers Opticas were also at the event with their campaign to collect glasses as part of a Lions Clubs International initiative to help people in Africa and India – “changing lives by improving vision”.
