Living at Village Verde

Village Verde is the latest development from Sotogrande SA, located next to La Reserva Club. It is an exclusive community of contemporary apartments (from €460,000), penthouses and townhouses in a tranquil parkland setting. We spoke to Sotogrande SA CEO Marc Topiol about the project to find out more…

Who is behind the project and how did the idea come about?

Village Verde is being created by Sotogrande SA, as part of its development of Sotogrande. L35 Architects and landscape architects Scape are working alongside us on the project to create a unique place to live and holiday. The idea came from the need for “multi-family” residences in this area. La Reserva Club and Sotogrande as a whole are known for large plots and exclusive villas, but buyers were also asking for a different kind of property. They wanted something with a sense of community, lots of things to do, a family-friendly environment and the convenience of a lock-up-and-leave property. Village Verde was born from this need and we’re very excited to present our vision of contemporary community living in this exclusive destination.  Alongside the real estate projects, we are creating a wide range of leisure and sports activities offering a quality of life based on discretion and privacy.

What has been the conceptual focus of the project?

Village Verde is all about creating a sense of community and making a beautiful place which is sociable, rooted in nature, secure, car-free and family-friendly. It has been developed as a self-sufficient village concept and is our interpretation of the perfect village environment.

The manifestation of this concept is the Village Centre. This is a communal area just for Village Verde residents which will be a hub for life in this community and offers many more facilities than is standard in developments such as these. This includes a gym, indoor and outdoor pools, a kids’ pool, a beach area and a spa zone. There is also a restaurant, a bar, multiple kids’ play areas including a woodland adventure playground, a mini-market and even an outdoor cinema.

There will be tennis courts and a croquet lawn, as well as bike trails, a jogging route, a green pedestrian promenade and an outdoor gym to explore the beautiful countryside setting.

All of these dedicated facilities are shared between just 220 contemporary properties, for a sense of privacy and security, as well as convenience. The generous 18-hectare parkland plot offers space and a connection with nature which is very unusual for developments of this size. We like to think of it as a green and pleasant land and we’ve designed bike trails and jogging paths to allow residents to explore their setting and get active too.

We are already having an excellent response to the concept, with 20 per cent of the first release being reserved in a very short time and a lot of interest from International and Spanish buyers.

Tell us more about the specifications and amenities of La Reserva de Sotogrande…

Village Verde is located just on the edge of the La Reserva de Sotogrande community, and we’re excited about offering buyers there a chance to use the state-of-the-art facilities we are developing at La Reserva.

These include a championship golf course, a tennis and padel club, several excellent restaurants, fitness and wellness classes, horse riding, polo and a packed calendar of events. During the summer there is even more on offer, as our private beach club and sports lagoon is open from April to September each year. The Beach includes a restaurant, sports lagoon with water sports, kids’ club, lap pool and treatment area, as well as a stunning sandy beach and lagoon area.

What makes La Reserva de Sotogrande so special?

We are creating a one-of-a-kind residential club here in the hills of Sotogrande.
