The coronavirus outbreak has had an especially devastating effect on charities. The DEBRA organisation in Spain, for example, reports that it is struggling through an “unprecedented time of need”, with the temporary closure of charity shops and the postponement of fundraising events that financially support the Butterfly Children’s charity. “Now more than ever we need your support to secure the future of the charity and the work that we do. Your support is our shield.”
DEBRA is the only charity in Spain to offer specialist support to children with EB: a painful, debilitating, rare and incurable skin condition. They have a specialist team of nurses, social workers and a psychologist who support families with EB from birth.
