Have you ever thought what it would be like to transform your existing old house into a state-of-the-art modern villa without having to demolish it and start from scratch? This is exactly what a family who had a holiday villa in Nueva Andalucía decided to do. Due to their villa’s deteriorating condition and antiquated installations, they felt it was time to do something radical, so they called the Atlas Group to take on this dramatic makeover – with spectacular results that surpassed their expectations…
The nine-bedroom family villa in Nueva Andalucía was dated and looked rundown. Due to the age of the house, there were many obstacles to overcome. The slanted Andalucian-style tiled roof was old and was removed, allowing for a 450 square metre roof terrace and giving the villa sea views that previously it did not have.
The archways outside the property inhibited light into the villa so these were removed and made square. The ceilings were low with small windows and doors, making the property very dark inside. By installing a false ceiling with clever lighting using spotlights and large-scale windows, a sense of space and light was instantly created.
The traditional free-form swimming pool was transformed into a stunning overflow pool with a state-of-the-art filtration system which does not use any chemicals and can be operated via a Wi-Fi connection.
Throughout the property white is the presiding colour for the walls and floors with black featuring in certain areas to add contrast. White provides a contemporary look, giving an illusion of space and brightness. A splash of yellow was introduced into the colour scheme to break up the uniformity and add fun and vibrancy to the living spaces.
Clean straight lines with stainless steel accessories give a dynamic futurist look to the interior design of the villa.
