Elegant culinary experience… from day-time to evening
The La Sala Group has built-up a fantastic reputation for offering good quality food and beverages in a modern and lively environment. Over the years we have seen the La Sala Group constantly evolving, so what did they have in store for us this year?
Previously called La Sala Beach, this elegant beach club near Puerto Banús has been transformed into the very elegant La Sala by the Sea. Now, you don’t just have the opportunity to visit this exclusive Marbella venue during the day, but you can also enjoy a sophisticated dining experience next to the Mediterranean Sea at night.
Shortly after their launch party earlier this summer, Home & Lifestyle Magazine paid a visit one evening to La Sala by the Sea to see what changes have been made…
As you enter the select surroundings of La Sala by the Sea, you are met by soothing music and friendly welcoming staff. The decoration is sophisticated and natural, with the general colour scheme brown, cream and white. The lighting is subtle, with LED lights illuminating the vegetation and adding a natural feel. One of the many changes from last year is a fountain placed in the centre of the newly-reformed swimming pool. The sound of the constant flow of water from the fountain is extremely soothing and makes the establishment feel invigoratingly fresh. One familiar feature from last season at the beach club is an eyecatching Balinese structure where you can dine while enjoying stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea; or alternatively you can eat downstairs, inside the structure, for a more intimate covered dining area, adorned with beautiful Chinese lampshades in perfect harmony with their oriental menu.
Home & Lifestyle Magazine was offered the chance to try some of the dishes from their new menu, so we ordered the mixed Thai tapas, an ample portion of tantalising Asian hors d’oeuvres accompanied by various dips served on a piece of slate. This spectacular-looking dish for €25 is excellent value and hugely satisfying. We also tried the fried salmon on a bed of asparagus and sweet Thai chilli. The succulent meaty chunks of perfectly cooked salmon, with the al dente asparagus and tangy sweet Thai chilli, made this dish both delightfully well balanced and totally delicious.
One of their most popular dishes is the Pad Thai, which we ordered with chicken. Once again, we were treated to a generous portion that was beautifully presented and packed with flavour.
It is safe to say that La Sala by the Sea is another triumph for the La Sala Group. Their chef, Ramón Benítez, has created a clever menu that is varied, inventive and good value for money. With the option to dine on white tablecloths, on a sun lounger or by the bar, this stunning beach club offers something for everyone, no matter what kind of mood you are in.
