NEW HOTEL IN THE ICONIC HEART OF MÁLAGA CITY
VINCCI LARIOS DIEZ
The Vincci hotel chain has opened its fifth establishment in Málaga province, in a refurbished 19 th century building in one of the capital city’s landmark streets. Vincci Larios Diez is located at number 10 Calle Larios in the former Gómez Raggio department store. Guests are able to enjoy the full experience of Málaga’s venerable tradi tions, culture and gastronomy, as the four-star hotel is within walking dis tance of such iconic sites as the cathedral, Roman theatre and Alcazaba, as well as the Picasso Málaga and Carmen Thyssen Málaga Museums and La Malagueta beach. Vincci Larios Diez forms part of the hotel chain’s commitment to converting classic architectural buildings that have fallen into disuse, giving them a new life and reintegrating them into their current surroundings. Dating to 1821, the building housed the Gómez Raggio store throughout the 20th century. Work to restore the original façade on the first floor was carried out by ar chitect Ignacio Ruiz Rivas, whose design also incorporates a covered interior patio that preserves the building’s essence. In conceptualising the overall design and interior décor project, the Plan Group (a founder partner of IHP) took two key factors into account: the prop
erty’s location and the area’s natural light. These had a direct influence in the design of the communal areas and rooms, to create an elegant, harmonious and welcoming aesthetic. The contemporary refurbishment is also highlight ed by the use of such high-quality materials as marble, brass-plated metals and wood. Extending over 3,500 square metres on seven floors, the hotel comprises 76 rooms, all spacious (from 22 square metres), with 10 including a terrace (some with views of the cathedral) and two exclusive top-floor rooms equipped with a terrace and hydromassage. The sixth floor houses a restaurant with a terrace, “El Taller de Larios 10”, which offers non-stop service from buffet and à la carte breakfasts to lunch and evening meals combining classic cuisine with latest culinary trends. The other four Vincci hotels on the Costa del Sol are: Vincci Selección Posa da del Patio and Vincci Málaga (both also in Málaga city), Vincci Selección Estrella del Mar and its Estrella del Mar beach club (Marbella), and Vincci Selección Aleysa (Benalmádena).
