Improving Accessibility for the Public

People who live in Andalucía and have a restaurant, shop or other service that is open to the public will be interested to learn that by 4 December all public and private spaces must be accessible to people with reduced mobility (“Decreto Andaluz sobre la Accesibilidad” regulations).

So what does this mean? According to Cristina Mota of Inclusive Design, “It means that if you live on the Costa del Sol, and you have a hairdressing salon, dentist’s clinic or any other space open to the public, it must be accessible to wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility.

“We can visit your establishment, explain what needs doing, and give you a quotation for the necessary changes. We take care of all the necessary adjustments, which could vary from removing steps and providing a ramp to widening doorways, etc., all of them compliant with the law.”
